Bees Rogan Josh Kerrie / Beef Rogan Josh Curry

Jy benodig…

1 volle gemaakte Rogan Josh kerrie pasta soos in vorige resep

1kg bees potjiekos vleis

1 groot ui (fyn gekap)

30ml botter

30 ml tamatie pasta

375 ml vol vet jogurt

625 ml bees aftreksel

1 blik gekapte tamaties

English recipe:

For this recipe you need to make the paste from last week.  You can use stewing beef for the recipe.

You will need…

1 times the recipe for the rogan josh curry paste from last week

1 kg stewing beef on the bone

1 large onion (chopped)

30 ml butter

30 ml tomato paste

375 ml full cream yogurt

625 ml beef stock

1 can chopped tomatoes

10-15 ml cornflour mixed with a little water to form a paste

Salt and pepper to taste

Marinate the meat the previous evening.  Rub in the curry paste into the meat.  Mix in the yogurt and then leave overnight in the fridge.

In a heavy based pot that can go in the oven, fry the onion in the butter.  Add the meat and brown all over.  Pre-heat the oven to 180C.  Add the tomato paste to the pot and fry for a minute.  Add in the can of tomatoes and the stock.   Simmer for 10 minutes.  Add in the cornflour paste and mix well.  Season with salt and pepper.  Cover the pot and simmer in oven for 2 hours.  Check that it doesn’t bake dry every now and then.

Serve with rice and roti’s.
